Owner, Certified Professional Organizer®
Hi, I'm Katie (or Kate, as some affectionately call me). I’m a Certified Professional Organizer®, a mom, child of God, and the founder of Renewal by Kate, which I launched in 2020 to help others discover the peace of an organized home. My passion for organizing started young—while other kids were playing, I was happiest tidying up the toys first! Even then, I found joy in creating calm from chaos, and that’s still at the heart of everything I do.
With my CPO® designation, I’m proud to bring industry-standard service, ethics, and expertise to every project. My team and I create functional, clutter-free spaces through sustainable organizing systems tailored to your needs. Our solutions are designed to be easy to use and effortless to maintain, so the calm we create together lasts well beyond our sessions.
Along with a natural love of organizing, I bring a background in business, having earned my Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and working in management, marketing, and children’s ministry before starting my business.
When I’m not organizing, I love hiking, camping, reading, and going on family bike rides for ice cream!
Professional Organizer
I discovered the joy of living simply while preparing to have my second child. Buried in handed-down clothes and baby gear, I started getting rid of what I didn’t need. This passion to declutter spread throughout my home and eventually to places like my calendar and mindset.
I truly believe that everyone can benefit from a simplified life and I love helping others experience the freedom of simplicity. I bring 17 years of ministry experience to the field of organizing — ready to not only help you tackle your home, but to listen to your story and help you change your habits to carry you long after our organizing work is done.
When I’m not organizing you can find me driving my kids to swim practice, listening to a podcast walking around the neighborhood, cooking with my husband or deciding what color to paint the bathroom next.
Professional Organizer
I’ve always worked in caring professions and especially as I navigated early adulthood, I found myself wanting to create methods and systems to keep my spaces peace-inducing, especially because keeping things tidy did not come easy to me early in life.
In 2021, as friends and family confided in me about their struggle to keep up their spaces during times of grief and mental health challenges, I offered help. During my time with them, I realized I could be a gentle and guiding presence and that I enjoyed this kind of work.
I love to figure out what system will work for each person. I especially enjoy seeing not only the transformation from a particular day’s work, but the longer term transformation it can bring by simplifying and making peace in one’s space.
When I’m not organizing, I can be found running communications and events for a local nonprofit, Collaboration Project, hiking and camping, playing music around town, experimenting with stained glasswork, or playing board games with my husband.
